The lawsuit against Activision Blizzard for sexual harassment and discrimination against female employees has prompted WoW fans to protest. The US guild Fence Macabre organized a sit-in in Oribos to make a statement against the poor treatment of Blizzard employees.
$8,000 in donations for Black Girls CODE
The protesters' action was in response to recent revelations surrounding the work culture at Activision Blizzard, which have roiled the gaming community in recent days. They demanded that the US company's leadership make " transparent, long-term changes to the company and its associated IPs

Fence Macabre's sit-in itself lasted eleven hours, and the guild raised more than $8,000 in donations during the action for the Black Girls CODE organization, which teaches African-American girls how to program.
In a statement, the guild's leadership summed up the event, writing, among other things,
"All of you, whether you've been with us since this morning or just for a short time, you've made a powerful statement with your presence.
We hope that this protest will cause Blizzard to look in the mirror and ensure that those who have harmed others - either through direct action or indifference - are held accountable.
Above all else: We sit in solidarity with the victims and survivors of Blizzard's hostile work culture, be they those who were forced to leave, those who continue to endure the suffering as we speak, and most of all: those who are no longer with us.
Change doesn't happen overnight. We know that. But change begins with a spark, a humble - but powerful - spark that all of you helped to light today. We hope that through that spark, Activision-Blizzard can shine a light on the plague that plagues their company and make transparent, long-term changes to improve their organization and their IPs.
While we roleplayers are only a small sliver of the player base, we are still passionate - passionate enough to inspire protests even on other servers and continents. Many guilds and players have come out to show solidarity [....]. "
By the way, the Black Girls CODE fundraiser will run until Monday, July 26, 2021, so if you'd like, you can still send a sum of your choice to the organization after the SitIn
