When the new WoW expansion Dragonflight is released, players can look forward not only to a new race-class combo and new areas, but also to various gameplay changes, including the crafting system
. WoW's professions have gotten quite old in the meantime, so this feature hardly excites fans at the moment. The developers want to make some adjustments so that this doesn't remain the case in Dragonflight. The team has now spoken in the official WoW forum about exactly what these adjustments will look like. Read also these interesting stories 6WoW: Zoom out further than normal? A newly discovered console command allows you to zoom out further with the camera in WoW - by increasing the Field of View! 0WoW: Final raid of the season of the championship will soon land on the PTR
Soon we'll find out what changes Blizzard is planning for the final raid of WoW: Season of Mastery.Professions should be fun again
The main problem that the WoW developers currently see with the professions is the fun factor: the way the professions currently work, rich players have a clear advantage and gold acts as a door opener for the craft, so to speak. Those with little gold are left out in the cold. Nevertheless, many crafted items are currently hardly or not at all relevant in the endgame, which causes additional frustration. To address these problems, the developers want to adjust the crafting in WoW: Dragonflight as follows:
- You won't automatically get better at your profession if you craft an item multiple times, as was previously the case. Instead, there will be several other ways to improve a profession and create higher quality items.
- Gold will play a less important role for professions in the future: You'll still be able to buy resources and use gold to place corresponding crafting orders, but gold will no longer be important for improving in your profession.
- Crafted items should be competitive with other end-game gear (and even BiS in some cases).
- Those who want to craft raid gear will also get resources for it from other sources like Mythic+, PvP, and open-world activities.
