WoW: Fate of the Helm of Domination revealed in patch 9.2 (spoilers!)

With patch 9.2 of WoW, the story of Shadowlands will apparently be completed - the developers speak of the final chapter, in which we have to face the dungeon master to protect the entire creation from his plans. Dataminers are now digging up new content for the upcoming update on a daily basis thanks to the launched PTR server.

This now includes a cutscene that reveals what will become of the remains of the Helm of Domination. Small reminder in trailer form: The Lich King's cap was destroyed by Sylvanas to open a portal to the Shadowlands.

The Primus takes the fragments of the Helm of Domination and combines them with the "strength of those who have defied domination (magic)". Sylvanas and Bolvar watch the master smith create the new Crown of Will from the Helm of Domination. This one is also visually very different from its predecessor - it is a golden diadem.

Fun Fact: This item even existed in Classic

The concept of the Crown of Will has actually already appeared in WoW (buy now ): A Classic quest of the same name revolved around such a crown, which allows the wearer to resist possession. Ogres had resisted Sylvanas' subjugation this way - but at the end of the quest, the Banshee Queen got the item back!
