Blizzard has introduced the ability to fund your Battle.net account with gold earned in World of Warcraft
The WoW Token is an item in World of Warcraft that can be purchased with in-game gold. Until now the token only had one task, namely to extend the duration of your subscription to the game (WoW is an MMO game that requires you to pay a subscription fee).
It's been known for some time that Blizzard intends to introduce the possibility of exchanging WoW Tokens for currency, information about which was found in the code of the latest update to the game. However, until today no one knew when exactly this would take place.
Blizzard activated an additional option yesterday when using the WoW Token, now only players in the United States who use the token can choose to extend their subscription for 30 days OR fund their Battle.net account with $15. The funds in the Battle.net account can be used for any game or service offered by Blizzard, including buying skin chests in one of the most popular FPS games today, Overwatch, or using them for card packs in Hearthstone, the choice is up to players. Those with large amounts of gold in WoW are surely rubbing their hands together already.
