Thanks to many generous donations to Doctors Without Borders, the first fundraising goal of $500,000 has been reached and the rare pet Bananas has been unlocked for all retail players in World of Warcraft. Monkey Bananas is now available for free in the Blizzard Store.
So you can pick up your pet right now on the homepage.Blizzard has since made some changes to the pet benefit program. For example, funds raised during the campaign will go directly to Doctors Without Borders in America.
How to donate:
- Visit the Doctors Without Borders DonorDrive page and select the "Donate To This Event" button at the top of the page.
- Enter a donation amount and select your currency type from the drop-down menu next to it.
- For USD only: Select PayPal, Amazon Pay, or credit card as your payment method.
- For all other currencies, click "Next" and then enter your credit card and payment information.
- Click "Pay" to have the donation processed.
On the official site of World of Warcraft, Community Manager Kaivax thanks all donors with these words:
Thanks to your generous donations to Doctors Without Borders, we have reached our $500,000 fundraising goal and will be making Bananas the Monkey available to all players of the modern World of Warcraft (buy now 14,99 € ) free of charge. Bananas is now available for free in the Blizzard Store.
With Bananas unlocked, we've also already raised half of the donations needed to unlock Daisy the sloth! If $1 million USD is donated by April 26, 2021, Daisy will become available and make herself comfortable on your back as you travel through Azeroth. The first donation goal was reached in a flash, and the bar to the first million continues to fill up rapidly. Potential donors still have more than a month to round up the total. Until August 2, 2021, Bananas and Daisy can be redeemed in your Battle.net account after the respective donation goal has been reached. Note: The pets are not available in World of Warcraft Classic or World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic!
