While the sources of anima in WoW Shadowlands are numerous, the amount that comes around is quite limited, much to the chagrin of many players. Especially when you consider how much Anima you need to buy all the cosmetic rewards or to completely expand your own Pact Sanctum. According to the developers, this is completely optional content that doesn't necessarily have to be earned in a hurry, but this goes against the habitus of most WoW players. If there is something to play, then you want to have it - and not only in six months.
Therefore, players are happy about any kind of additional possibility to get a lot of anima quickly and easily. With patch 9.0.5, an additional option is now coming into play. At least for all those who have so far diligently collected their souls every week and have not yet spent them generously on the expansion of their Sanctum. The weekly quest that sends you to the Maw to rescue lost souls (Return of the Lost Souls) will reward you with anima as a replacement reward starting with patch 9.0.5. However, you will only receive this reward if you have already reached the upper limit of the number of souls you have collected. If you have a hundred or more souls in your inventory, you will not be able to receive any more souls and will instead receive 500 anima.
While this isn't a staggering amount, it should still please some players and is probably a step in the right direction - albeit a small one. Depending on feedback, it's entirely possible that we'll see more adjustments in this direction before patch 9.0.5 finally hits the live servers sometime in March.
Would you like to see more sources of Anima, should the existing sources be increased even further, or is the Anima you've been earning weekly enough for you so far?
